Enlighten is a registered charity in England and Wales (1076231) and welcomes donations towards its work in the Palestinian refugee camps.
Enlighten is an entirely independent non-profit initiative, registered with the UK
Charities Commission. Its work depends on the generous support of individuals
and organisations both here in Britain and throughout the Middle East. Although
the charity has worked in partnership with major international donors in the past
(including the UNDP*) and continues to attract the approval and support of established
funders, Enlighten's grassroots, community-based work means the its
trustees strive to retain organisational independence both in terms of the program's
mandate and the charity's operational decision-making. This position, vital
to the credibility and quality of its work, makes Enlighten highly dependent upon
individual donations received through fundraising activities.
